Adventure, art, and a lifetime of stories.

Joseph E. Swift has spent decades exploring the world and his imagination. As a child, he spun tales of adventure, crafted plays in high school, and experimented with prose and poetry through the transformative Sixties and Seventies. Swift ventured into science fiction in the Eighties, penned essays in the Nineties, and shared his memoirs at the turn of the millennium, only to return to his first love: science fiction.
His life’s journey is as varied as his writing. Hitchhiking across America as a teenager, Swift took on jobs from dishwashing to newspaper copy editing. He lived in New York’s vibrant art scene during the Vietnam War era and eventually immigrated to Canada, where he helped run a commune and worked at McGill University’s library for over three decades.
Swift now resides in Montreal with his wife Christina. His contributions to thesilverscream.com, including over a thousand science fiction movie reviews in “Joe’s Corner,” have attracted millions of readers.

A life well lived, a legacy well written.
